Timothy “Tim” Ray Mabey, longtime resident of Buena Vista, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 17.

Tim was born in Salida on March 20, 1958. He attended grade school at Climax and graduated from Lake County High School in Leadville, in 1977.

He was married to Marcia Longwell on Nov. 17, 1978, at Tim’s family home in Buena Vista.

Following the Climax layoff in 1983, Tim worked for Academy Insulation, F.J. Kent in Silverthorne for 11 years, Miles Construction 7 years and ACA Products for 10 years.

Tim enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all camping with his family up Four mile.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lynn Mabey, father Edwin Mabey, a niece Shannon Rogers and a brother-in-law Rich Longwell.

He is survived by his wife Marcia; son Timothy Ray (Amanda) Mabey, Jr.; twin daughters, Crissa (Patrick) Carr of Buena Vista and Samantha (Kyle) Green of Englewood; a brother, Terry (Kay) of Moses Lake, Wash.; a sister Cherie Gentry of Buena Vista and a nephew, Johnny Rogers of Washington state. In addition, he leaves granddaughters Shelly Mabey, Gracie Jane and Alissa Green; grandsons Edwin Mabey, Elijah Green and Addicus Carr; his mother-in-law Darlene Godat and sister-in-law Becky Daughety of Buena Vista and a brother-in-law Gary Longwell of Kit Carson.
