Ruth Evelyn Neff was born Aug. 28, 1920, to William and Mabel Freymiller in Scranton, N.D. She passed away peacefully at Brookside Aurora on March 10, 2018.
Ruth was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Buffalo Springs, N.D. where she earned a letter in basketball. She went to nursing school in Missoula, Mont.
She married Frank Neff April 17, 1945. They had three children: Thela, Wiley and Dave.
She was a 4-H leader. She also made many cheerleader and pep club uniforms for the Buena Vista Demons.
Ruth worked at the Health Clinic on Oak Street in Buena Vista for 20 years. After retiring she traveled around the world. She loved her flowers, watching the hummingbirds and counting the deer in her yard. Friends and family described this petite lady as “spunky.” She live in Buena Vista for 60 years.
Ruth is survived by her children Thela (Virgil) King, Wiley (Jan) Neff and Dave Neff, four grandchildren Chad King, Heather King Stukey, Breanne Neff Harry and Erin Neff Cowen and six great-grandchildren Noah, Harrison, Brock, MaKensie, Brolin and Riley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Neff, her parents, three brothers Dale, Bill and David and sister Margie.
