Two by two, vehicles pulled into the parking lot of Sangre de Cristo Electric Association at the north end of town for Buena Vista’s first mass vaccination event. Chaffee County Public Health distributed 115 of the first round of shots of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

The Buena Vista Historic Preservation Commission approved a 180-day stay of the demolition permit filed for the building on the corner of Chestnut and Railroad Streets, known in planning documents as the German Property after its previous occupants, but more commonly known as the Depot building.

In a quickly called special meeting Monday evening that culminated discussions that began just last week, the Buena Vist board of trustees voted unanimously to approve an assignment of a contract to buy real estate north of town for $1,385,000.

Sales tax returns for the town of Buena Vista were up 9.81% in October and 18.04% in November 2020, town treasurer Michelle Stoke said in a memo to town trustees.

At the next meeting of the Buena Vista board of trustees, the board will begin discussion on how to allocate the costs to do maintenance work on the alley between South Court and Beldan streets, and will also vote on whether to adopt architectural design guidelines.
