U.S. Rep Doug Lamborn made the following post to his Facebook page Saturday:

“This weekend, the Obama Administration will celebrate their abuse of executive power to circumvent significant local opposition in their quest to designate the Browns Canyon National Monument. This designation goes directly against the wishes of thousands of disenfranchised local residents who have raised concerns regarding grazing rights, water rights, outdoor recreation, and wildfire management issues and who continue to voice their opposition. It also endangers the prospect of a secure financial future for Browns Canyon by circumventing the normal transparent and open Congressional process. The Administration should have worked with all local residences, not just select groups, as well as with Congress to address their concerns. I do not support this blatant federal interference into a local issue and cannot celebrate it.”
