Giving Trees to benefit shelter dogs and cats are up at Salida and Buena Vista locations of Gone to the Dogs. The holiday trees are decorated with photo ornaments of the current resident dogs and cats at Ark-Valley Humane Society. Each ornament has a photo of the dog or cat on the front and their “wishes” on the back.

The wishes include such items as special dietary treats, indestructible chew toys, orthopedic beds, training sessions, winter coats and more. The main wish of all of the animals is for a permanent, forever home. The special gifts will add to each pet’s overall enrichment of life during their time at AVHS. The items go home with the dog or cat when they are adopted.

Anyone wanting to grant a wish can come into Gone to the Dogs seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Salida location is 235 W. Rainbow Blvd. and the Buena Vista location is at 300 E. Main St. Gone to the Dogs will deliver the special gifts to AVHS no later than Dec. 24. For more information, call 539-4220 in Salida or 966-5445 in Buena Vista.
