Arkansas River flows along Browns Canyon

The Arkansas River flows along Browns Canyon National Monument.

The Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and Colorado Parks and Wildlife are soliciting input from users for the Browns Canyon National Monument planning process.

A 2-hour public hearing will be held 6 p.m. Nov. 15, at the Buena Vista High School cafeteria.

“What you say will help develop an understanding of the monument as part of the larger landscape and communities it serves,” a press release states. “This will be an opportunity to share what you think is important, valued, of meaning or an emerging concern.”

During the meeting, users will be prompted to share how users interact with the national monument by drawing on maps.

There will also be a kids activities corner set up by Greater Arkansas Nature Association so parents can focus on providing input.
