Sheila Louis Stout passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.
Sheila was born in Iloa, Kan. Oct. 5, 1947, to John and Evelyn Audiss. She was the second of five children.
Sheila moved to Buena Vista as a young teenager where she met her husband, Bob Stout, and their love began to flourish. On Feb. 24, 1968 their union became one and they married. They went on to have two daughters, Amber and Rayelle.
Sheila fulfilled a life-long dream of becoming a hairdresser and her talents shined through. She had a passion for softball, and she played and umpired in Buena Vista, Salida and Leadville. She also barrel-raced for many years.
Sheila never feared an adventure and loved camping and riding out on the ATVs. Sheila’s warm heart extended to even strangers and loved to help others with no regard to the limits she would go.
Sheila is survived by her husband Robert Stout, her daughters Amber (Luke) Dahlberg and Rayelle (Arby) Bailey; her grandchildren Lexie, Nikayla, Ty, Madison and Coleton and her great-grandchild Zeb; sisters Marilyn, Debbie, Lynette and her brother John and many nieces and nephews.
