83, loved to cook, crochet and oil paint.
Patricia Gail Swann passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 14, 2019.
She was born April 21, 1936, to Kenneth and Frances Rader in Colorado Springs. She was their only child.
Patricia attended Saint Mary’s High School where she met and married Joseph Swann.
After starting her marriage in Colorado Springs, the family moved to Climax where Joseph worked for Climax Mine until his death in 1976. In 1961 they moved to Buena Vista as the winters were extremely harsh at Climax.
Patricia was a wonderful cook. She cooked for Sky Valley Ranch (now Adventure Unlimited), for the Green Parrot when it was a restaurant, and for the Dinner Bell Café. Her most rewarding employment as a cook was for the Meals on Wheels program.
After Joseph passed away and Climax shut down, Patricia relocated to Colorado Springs, attended Pikes Peak Community College and received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for several years in the home health care field. Upon retiring she took care of her aging parents.
She had many great years after retirement, cooking for family gatherings, crocheting and painting beautiful oil paintings until her health failed. She was lovingly cared for until her death by her son Michael.
Patricia is survived by six children, Kathleen (Glen) Mussetter, Gail Dyer, Stephanie (Rodney) VanNingen, Mary Swann, Michael Swann, Margaret (Jim) Close; her beloved Bassett Hound Rosie; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two grandsons.
