80, known far and wide for her peanut brittle.
Katherine “Kaye” Confer passed away Nov. 6, 2019, in Gilbert, Ariz.
She was born to H. H. “Jerry” and Hazel Newsom in Cedaredge June 2, 1939. She married Kenneth “Kenny” Confer on April 28, 1962, in Buena Vista and had two children. They celebrated 57 years of wedded bliss this year.
They had made Buena Vista their home until the past 3 years when they moved to Casa Grande, Ariz. for their health.
Kaye was a very loving, caring and generous person. She was one to help others, and anyone who met her found her to be a great friend. Kaye was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at a young age. She was never one to complain and was determined not to let it conquer her.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, picnics, fishing, yard sales, auctions, arrowhead collecting, camping and going to “the cabin.” She also enjoyed trying out new recipes and cooking. Kaye was known far and wide for her delicious peanut brittle.
She is survived by her husband Kenny; son Kelly Confer and wife Abby; granddaughter Tiffany; sisters Donna Shomaker and Carol Tittel (Jerry); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Hazel Newsom and her daughter Terri Confer.
She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial will be held at a later date in Arizona.
