75, loved to walk, bake, visit with friends

Elouise “Lou” Pasquala Brood of Buena Vista, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida.

She was born May 17, 1944 in Pueblo to Augusto and Aurora (Armijo) Armenta.

She was united in marriage to Leonard Brood on July 2, 1966 in Buena Vista and they were happily married for 53 years.

She did Curves, worked in the kitchen at Avery-Parsons Elementary School for 17 years. She loved to walk, bake, loved visiting with friends and helping people. She was always a helper. She often helped with dinners at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband Leonard Brood of Buena Vista; children Annette (Scott) Wiley of Abilene, Texas and Chuck (Nancy) Brood of Buena Vista; grandchildren Ashley (Larry) Brower of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Adam (Sarah) Wiley of Boise, Idaho, Anthony Nicholson of Golden, Brittney (Brady) Baugher of Warsaw, Ind., A.J. Johnson of Birmingham, Ala. and Melody Brood of Ft. Collins; great grandchildren Brooke, Brody and Breck Brower, Neveah Wiley, Carter Lee Nicholson, Leo and Cheyenne Baugher; siblings Ben Armenta, Dora Martinez, Gloria Cordova, Ann Santillanez, Ray Armenta and Barbara Madison. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Buena Vista. The Memorial Mass was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heart of the Rockies Home Health and Hospice.
