Charles Henry Nachtrieb IV passed away on the 4th of July in Aurora. He was a direct descendant of the first settlers of Nathrop.
Chuck was born Jan. 1 1943 in Los Angeles to Charles Henry Nachtrieb III and Frances Nachtrieb. He went to school at the Gas Creek School in Nathrop, then in Taos, N.M. He served 4 years in the United States Navy and was a welder by trade.
Chuck enjoyed playing music, singing and acting and performed in local plays and melodramas. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking and rock hounding.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Kathryn Nachtrieb Deluca.
He is survived by Roberta, his wife of 35 years; three children, Charles Fiero (Jereana Ogden) of Buena Vista, Suzanne Nachtrieb Heath (Rob) of New Hampshire and Charles H. Nachtrieb V of New York; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brother Dana (Dee) Nachtrieb of Poncha Springs and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a private service at the Nachtrieb cemetery in Nathrop followed by a Celebration of Life at The Lariat on Sunday, July 14 at 2 p.m.
