Angie Cunico, 91, died Feb. 12, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver.
She was born Jan. 3, 1921, to Sullivan and Carmelinda Spezze and grew up in Sargents as one of 10 siblings.
In 1941 she married Andy Cunico, and they had three children.
In March 1985 Mr. Cunico died, and she later married Frank Quintana.
A 62-year Salida resident, she enjoyed dancing, playing accordion and piano, and cooking for family and friends.
Her greatest passion was fishing and she could often be found reeling them in at Frantz and Sand lakes and on the banks of the Arkansas River. Her largest catch was a 29½-inch, 10-pound rainbow trout.
Friends and family remember her for her warm heart and open door - she made anyone feel welcome and at home in her house.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Andy Cunico; and siblings Vera Luchetta, Elise Cox, John Spezze and Patrick Spezze.
Survivors include her husband Frank Quintana; siblings Inez Rocco, Ethel Post, Mabel Kane, Joe Spezze and Lou (Waiva) Spezze; daughter, Pat (Jack) Roberts; sons, David Cunico and Dick (Robyn) Cunico; grandchildren, Jerri Mason, Tim Jacobs, Terry Jacobs, Kathy Jones, Anna Morgan, Wendy Mitchell, Dave Cunico, Josh Cunico and Lacy Cunico; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Her service was set for Feb. 21, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salida. Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home, Salida.
