Sign up for a new Envision Chaffee County project that lets volunteers monitor the impacts to natural resources and outdoor experiences. The Recreation Impacts Monitoring System was developed to map and monitor the county’s recreation system and sustainably manage it into the future. Volunteers will collect data at 22 sites including the size of campsites, number of existing campfire rings, cut tree limbs used for campfires, evidence of human waste such as toilet paper “flowers,” trash and soil erosion into nearby waters. Volunteers can attend one of four training sessions. To register go to cmc.org/app.

SALIDA ASPEN CONCERT STUDENT PASSPORT PROGRAM: All students K-12 are invited to attend any of the Salida Aspen Concerts free of charge. One accompanying adult may also purchase a ticket at half price. Students that attend the concerts will be provided with a musical passport, a stamp of attendance on their passport and a special pin of recognition. With six different pins available students are encouraged to attend each of the six concerts to complete their set. Concerts will be held at the Salida High School auditorium, 7:30 p.m., July 20, 27 and Aug. 3. ANDREWS’ EXHIBIT IN HRRMC BV painter Stuart Codington Andrews explores the Western landscape in a collection of oil paintings on display at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center through June 30. His paintings in the hospital exhibit are for sale, and 25 percent of the proceeds are donated to the HRRMC Foundation.
