Posted: Thursday, September 27, 2012 8:00 am

The “100 Days of Heat” summer DUI enforcement campaign ended strong with 1,440 DUI arrests during the national crackdown that occurred Aug.17-Sept.3, announced the Colorado Department of Transportation. More than 88 law enforcement agencies and the Colorado State Patrol participated in the 18-day crackdown, which netted an average of 80 DUI arrests each day.

The entire “100 Days of Heat” summer-long enforcement push resulted in a total of 2,793 DUI arrests during enforcement periods and checkpoints between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day.  That was a 6 percent increase over last summer’s 2,634 DUI arrests.
