The Citizen of the Year for 2010 will be selected at the regular Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce board meeting Sept. 15 and will be announced at the chamber membership banquet Oct. 16. One man and one woman will be selected by the board.

There is a unique and interesting journey ahead on Sept. 10 and 11 for those who are tired of weekend jaunts into Denver or elsewhere. This traveling can be done right here in Buena Vista and promises varied and interesting artistic scenery throughout the valley. It is an open studio tour into the artistic lives of 11 prominent area artists.

During the week of Aug. 23-27, residents may have noticed their town becoming a bit greener. Members of the Buena Vista Tree Board and staff of the Public Works Department were busy marking planting sites, excavating soil and planting new trees around town.
