| 11/18/2009 6:09:00 PM | Email this article Print this article | H1N1 to be topic of presentation Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center's Internal Medicine team is offering a brown bag lunch presentation on H1N1 flu and seasonal flu on Thursday, Nov. 19, from noon until 1 p.m. in the lobby of The Medical Clinics on Highway 50 in Salida. Dr. John Ellis and physician assistants Sheree Beddingfield and Beth Pack will give the PowerPoint presentation.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, flu activity continues to rise across the United States, with most cases being diagnosed as the H1N1 flu. Flu-related hospitalizations are very high nationwide compared to what is expected for this time of year.
The Internal Medicine team will discuss the different symptoms and vaccines for seasonal flu and H1N1 flu, as well as complications that can arise and treatment options. A question-and-answer period will follow.
No reservations are needed, and attendees are invited to bring their own lunch and beverage. For more information, call 530-2000.
