Breastfeeding is nature’s way of nourishing your new baby. Mother’s milk provides all the nutrition babies need in the first months of life. It protects them from infections, allergies and upset stomachs. Breastmilk is the perfect food for babies.

Breastfeeding has other benefits, too. Babies thrive on loving contact. Each time you snuggle your hungry baby to your breast to nurse, you assure him or her of your loving presence. Through breastfeeding, babies learn about love, trust, warmth and security.

All women who are interested in learning more about breastfeeding are invited to our informal discussions. Mothers are encouraged to attend meetings before the birth of their babies. Being in touch with La Leche League can give you the network of support you need.

Breastfeeding, though a natural process, is a learned art. La Leche League is here to help you learn. We know that most of the questions mothers have about breastfeeding are practical ones, best answered by other nursing mothers. Local Group Leaders are accredited volunteers with the experience of thousands of breastfeeding mothers behind us.

LLL of Salida meets January 9th (the second Monday of each month) at 10 a.m., at the Presbyterian Church in the Sun Room, 7 Poncha Blvd., Salida.

Please feel free to text or call if you have any questions about breastfeeding: Rian 719-588-1933 or Lorraine 207-5008.
