Leadville’s Groovespeak plays BBQ and Brewfest Saturday

Leadville rock band Groovespeak will get things loose on Harrison Avenue during the Leadville BBQ and Brewfest Saturday, beginning at 12:15 p.m. The band concludes, from left, keyboardist Ryan Ruegg, bass player George Finnell, Vilous Fox on drums, Carey Nall, guitar and vocals, and Mark Hanson and Allie Moreau comprising the horn section.

Once the the curtain has fallen on the Last Waltz in BV Saturday night, the party isn’t over.

The Lariat will be hosting Leadville’s GrooveSpeak beginning at 10, following Salida’s Next Last Waltz at the Ivy Ballroom.

Founded by Carey Nall and Brian Woodward, Groovespeak came to the Rocky Mountain by way of the southeast in 2003.

The funk group’s history stretches back to the early ‘90s, when the group’s first album featured Derek Trucks on its title track

Tickets are $5 for ticket holders of any of the Next Last Waltz’s three performances.
