Campout for the Cause announced Friday that it would be canceling its 2020 festival at the Meadows, originally set for the last weekend in May.

The event has been postponed until the weekend of June 4-6, 2021, said event spokesperson Juliana Todeschi.

Todeschi said that ticket holders for the 2020 event will be refunded to their original payment account.

On the Campout website, the festival announced "a very simple community gathering dubbed 'the Pick-nic," scheduled for October 2-3 at the Meadows.

Campout's cancellation is the first major event of the summer to cancel over concerns of COVID-19.

"With social distancing orders changing rapidly by the day, there's too much speculation surrounding large gatherings and their ability to return at this time," Todeschi said.
