South Central Racing will host the 4th annual Cross at the River cyclocross bicycle race at the Buena Vista River Park Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Amatuer and local professional men and women racers will compete in various categories and skill levels. Each race will last from 45 minutes to an hour.
Cyclocross is a spectator-friendly sport and fans are encouraged to bring cowbells to encourage racers. Except for a short section of the river trail from the boat house to south main, all trails will be open including the Whipple Trail. Trail users will have to park either at the tennis courts or community center.
Volunteers are needed, especially early in the morning for course set up. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and lunch. For more info, visit www.southcentralracing.com or call 719-221-0158.
