Giving thanks is universal
“I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains. Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun, go out and seek happiness yourself and in God. Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself within and without you and be happy.”
These words were written down as a statement of thanksgiving by a young German Jewish girl who died at the age of 16 in 1945. She wrote a diary during the Holocaust. Her name was Anne Frank.
Eight nations around the world have officially declared Thanksgiving days. They are: Brazil, Canada, Korea, Liberia, Switzerland, USA, Argentina and Japan.

BV mine may yield $80 million, owner claims.
A mine that is expected to yield more than $80 million worth of copper, silver, gold and other minerals is scheduled to begin operating this spring just west of Buena Vista.
The former Wapeti Mine at 10,500-foot level of Mt. Harvard is being developed by Jackson Mines, Ltd., which is in the process of changing its name to the Buena Vista Mining Co.
“It’s hardly been worked at all–the dump has more (minerals) than most mines,” says Rowland Jackson, the general partner in the mining company. He says the partnership currently is taking the legal steps to form a private corporation. No public sale of stock in the mine is anticipated.
