Author Sonnie McFarland will teach a six-session course on Montessori-method parenting beginning March 5 at the Watershed.

McFarland wrote “Montessori Parenting: Unveiling the Authentic Self” with her late husband Jim on the topic of applying concepts from the alternative education philosophy developed by Maria Montessori to raising children as a parent. Sonnie has been involved in Montessori education for 40 years.

The cost of the full six sessions is $200 for an individual or couple. Childcare will be available for children 2 or older for a reasonable price, McFarland said. The classes run from 4-6 p.m. on Mar. 5, 12, Apr. 2, 9, 16 and 23.
