Camp honors Johnson family memory

Assistant vice president of Collegiate Peaks Bank, division of Glacier Bank, Brenda Troudt, left front, hands a check in the amount of $500 to Matt Flavin, Buena Vista High School head football coach. The money is for the Johnson’s All-Heart Football Camp, sponsored by BVHS alumnus Nate Solder. Others present from left are Jay Smith, president of Collegiate Peaks Bank; Erna Whelan, accounting officer; Liz Collier, vice president; Jennifer Accaira, operations support officer of CP Bank; Amanda Hansen, regional operations officer; Summer Brown, operations lead and Linda Johnson, matriarch of the Johnson family for whom the camp is named. Linda said, “I’m part of the football family at Buena Vista High School.”

Thanks to Nate Solder and his family for all he does for the community and the kids.

Flavin said, this camp, scholarships and assistant coach award represent what the Johnson’s stood for. “Thanks to the community for all the support for this great cause. “

CP Bank is the food sponsor for the camp. Smith said, “Collegiate Peaks Bank is dedicated to supporting the youth of our community.”

In 2013, Dwayne and Dawna Johnson, both coaches at BVHS, were killed in a rock slide near Agnes Vaille Falls along with their daughter and two nieces.
